Carve Rune

What is Rune Carving?

Rune Carving is a reworked feature on NosVarya that lets you carve your Main Weapon and Armour to further improve their offensive and defensive stats.

Runes carved on your Weapon grant Offensive Runes, while runes carved on your Armour grant Defensive Runes.

Where can I start Rune Carving?

Rune Carving is done directly from the Upgrade Manager widget. Open it, select your Main Weapon or Armour, and carve from there.

Upgrade Manager Rune Carving

Requirements

  • The item must be your Main Weapon or Armour.
  • The item must not be broken.

How does Rune Carving work?

Your Main Weapon and Armour can each receive up to a total of 21 Rune Levels. Each carving attempt has a chance to succeed (raising the Rune Level by 1) or fail (no progress).

Each stage of the carving process grants a different reward:

Rune LevelsWhat happens
1 – 18Each successful carve grants a new rune skill (up to 5 unique skills) or strengthens one of the skills you already have.
19You receive 1 random Rune Power, a special Weapon or Armour Carve Buff.
20 – 21Each successful carve strengthens the Rune Power you obtained at level 19.

For the full list of stats each rune can grant, see Carve Stat. For the exact gold and materials needed at every level, see Carve Materials.

Scrolls required to carve

Rune Carving now always requires a scroll. You cannot carve without one. The scroll you choose changes how safe and how rewarding the attempt is:

ScrollEffect
Basic (Weapon & Armour)
The standard scroll. Lets you carve and protects your equipment from breaking.
Premium (Weapon)
Everything the basic scroll does, plus:
+2% success chance
50% chance to keep your materials if the carve fails
5% chance for an extra-strong result (a bonus rune upgrade)
Premium (Armour)

What happens on each attempt

Every attempt consumes 1 scroll, the gold and the materials required for the current level (see Carve Materials). The outcome is then:

OutcomeResult
SuccessThe Rune Level increases by 1 and a rune is granted or strengthened.
FailureNo progress. Your gear does not break thanks to the scroll. Materials are consumed (a Premium scroll has a 50% chance to keep them).

Success chance decreases as the Rune Level rises. The exact success rate for every level is listed on the Carve Materials page (a Premium scroll adds +2% on top of those values).
